1. Install the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device.
  2. Open a browser on your computer (not mobile device) and sign in https://login.microsoftonline.com.

  3. Sign in with your @manitowoc.org email address (username@manitowoc.org) and password, then click "Next".

  4. Choose "Microsoft Authenticator" for the sign-in method.

  5. A QR code will be shown on your computer. Switch to the mobile device to continue set up.

  6. On your mobile device, open the "Microsoft Authenticator" app.

  7. Click the + button in the top right-hand corner and choose “Work or school account”.

  8. When prompted, choose "Scan QR code".

  9. Then scan the QR code on the computer with your device. If you cannot use your phone camera, click "Can't scan image?" to enter the 9-digit code and the URL instead.

    (Note: For iPhone users, you may need to change the app permission to scan the QR code: Settings > Authenticator > Camera)

  10. A rotating six-digit code will appear after successful setup
  11. Back on the computer, click "Next" to proceed.

  12. A number will display as shown below. And a notification is sent to your device. Switch to your mobile device to proceed.

  13. You should receive a notification on your mobile device.

  14. Tap on the notification, enter the number displayed (the one shown on the computer) and click “Yes” for confirm verification.
  15. When you see the following screen on your computer, click "Next".

  16. An app password will be shown. Copy and save the app password in case some of your devices or apps do not support MFA. For details, please see (Not need for board members)

  17. From now on, you will receive a notification from the Microsoft Authenticator app when you attempt to sign in. Simply Tap "Approve" on your device to complete verification to complete sign in.

Note: If you get notifications asking to confirm sign in when you are NOT attempting to sign in, please report this activity to I.T. immediately.
